General Instillation Instructions
|
|
- Mount the 2 Amber LED Dual Mode Lights on the front of your recreational vehicle using 4 of the self taping screws. Note: Drilling a 7/64 pilot hole will help. Suggestion: If you are mounting your lights to the front bumper, you may want to use our Light Guards to help protect them.
- Mount the 2 Red LED Dual Mode Lights on the rear of your recreational vehicle using 4 of the self taping screws. Note: Drilling a 7/64 pilot hole will help. Suggestion: If you are mounting your lights to the rear bumper, you may want to use our Light Guards to help protect them.
- Mount the Turn Signal Switch to your steering column as described in “How to Mount Turn Signal Switch” - Standard Mounting Hardware for All Makes & Models or 09 Ranger XP/HD Mounting Hardware.
Note: Use the 18” Black Ground Wire instead of scraping paint away from steering column (recommended). This will make a better ground and you won’t have to scrape on your new recreational vehicle. Use one of the screws (that comes with the turn signal switch) and place it through the ring tong of the 18” black ground wire.
- Mount the LED Electronic Flasher using the metal detachable bracket. You can mount the bracket using an existing screw location or you can use a self taping screw and mount it close to the battery or where it is convenient to get to.
- Install the LED illuminated rocker switch on your dash where it is easy to see and use. By drilling a ½” hole in the dash you can mount the rocker switch.

How to Mount Turn Signal Switch - Standard Mounting Hardware for All Makes and Models
|
|
- Insert screws into anchors. (See Fig. A)
- Insert assembled anchor screws into slots in switch. Do not tighten. (use the 18” ground wire here)
- Bend strap end through and around clip. Engage clip between anchor and switch housing.
- Hold switch against steering column in desired position and bend strip around column. Scrape paint from column under strap to make ground contact or use the 18” grounding wire with ring tong (recommended).
- Estimate strap length required and cut it as necessary. Insert unbent portion of strap through other clip and assemble as in Step 3.
- Catch clip under anchor and tighten screws equally until switch is clamped firmly to steering column.
|
|
|
|
Note: When cover is removed, pull Spring Clip away from handle to disengage socket & pilot bulb assembly from handle. Replace pilot bulb with #51 for 6 volt, #53 for 12 volt, or #356 for 24 volt service. Re-engage pilot bulb assembly back into handle. Do not try to test pilot bulb until after switch is reassembled and grounded.

How to Mount Turn Signal Switch - 09 Ranger XP/HD Mounting Hardware
|
|
- Insert screw through 09 Ranger XP/HD Turn Signal Switch Strap (bottom) and into slot in switch. (already done)
- Assembled anchor, screw & clip into slot in switch on (top) the 09 Ranger XP/HD (TSS) Strap. (already done)
- OK, you see how the strap works! Remove the screw, anchor and clip (top). Bend the strap out just a little.
- Hold switch against steering column (just under the steering wheel and above the welded tilt steering wheel shock absorber anchor point - see picture below) and bend strap around column. General Wiring Instructions
|
|
- Connect the white wires from the 4 Dual Mode LED lights & the parking light switch (-) terminal to ground or the negative side of the battery (recommended).
- Connect the red wires from the 4 Dual Mode LED lights using the diagram in “How to Wire Turn Signal Switch”. Remember, tape the end of the grey/black wire (not used) to prevent shorts.
- Connect the yellow wires from the 4 Dual Mode LED lights to the center terminal of the parking light switch.
Note: Never solder wires to switch terminals, heat will damage switch, use crimp style terminal connectors.
- Connect one end of the In-line Fuse Holder to the positive side of the battery, if you want the turn signals and emergency flasher to work at all times (recommended). Or, if you want the turn signals and emergency flasher to work only if the key is on, then wire it to a “hot” positive connection only with the key on. Connect the other end to the LED electronic flasher (+) terminal and the parking light switch (+) terminal.
- Connect the blue (P) wire from the turn signal switch to the LED electronic flasher (P) terminal.
- Connect the yellow (L) wire from the turn signal switch to the LED electronic flasher (L) terminal.
- Put the ATC 3 amp fuse in the in-line fuse holder... YOU’RE DONE: Try them out!

How to Operate Turn Signal Switch
|
|
To Signal Turns:
Move switch handle in direction of turn. Green pilot light will flash to indicate proper functioning.
To Operate Emergency Flashers:
With switch handle in neutral position, pull the flare tab out. All signal lamps & red pilot light will flash for all-around vehicle protection. Note: Power lead must be connected to a line which is “hot” when ignition switch is off (+ side of battery) for hazard warning signals to operate when motor is not running!
To Release Emergency Flashers:
Move switch handle left or right. Tab flare will release automatically. Return switch handle to neutral position.
Troubleshooting:
If the red pilot light blinks and you don’t have the turn signals or the emergency flashers on: Check the Pilot wire (blue) and the Load wire (yellow), they are reversed on the flasher.
If the pilot light is on, but the lights do not flash: Check your grounds at each light and the turn signal switch.
If you don’t have any pilot light or lights on: Check your turn signal switch ground and power source to flasher.
If pilot light does not flash: Check for defective lamp or pilot bulbs before checking flasher.
